Sneaky Feelings.

An official but short announcement:

Because this is a Brunswick Cycling Club event, and because we really, really wanted to be covered by someone's public liability insurance, you will need a Cycling Australia Licence to race this series. If you don't have a CA licence, you will be able to purchase a 3-ride permit from us, at any of the races in the series, for $30. That's all cool, but we because we have to buy them from Cyclesport Victoria up front, it'd be good to know numbers beforehand. So, if you want to ride on a 3-ride permit, drop us a line in the comments section here.

We're still trying to figure out if a MTBA licence is ok. Given Neil Robinson rode in the Metro Road Champs on his last weekend, it should be fine, but we want to make sure. I'll get back to you on that.*

Ah, bureaucracy.

*Have now done some research. MTBA licence holders can upgrade their licences with CA, but if they're not keen on doing this, they will have to purchase 3-ride permits like everyone else. Which kinda sucks. This was much easier to deal with when we were organizing alleycats.

  3. I think if you had of done it with a MTB club, any licence, MTBA or CA would suffice. If no had a licence then it would have been only $15 for a one day licence. But then it would cost $45 just for licences alone for all three rounds rather than $30. I think i will get a ride it licence.

  4. damian,

this is, unfortunately, not the case. if you want to ride a MTBA event and only have a CA license, you have to buy a day permit like everyone else.

you can get a ride-it license if you want, but if you wish to compete in this event you will need a 3-race permit.
