The Right Profile

In my inbox whilst I was recently away (riding SS cross bikes in fabled MTB lands) arrived a flyer for an event that has been rumoured here for a while..

Norm has been communicating with DDHQ for a while and we were delighted to have him come down and race both categories in the final round last year. He has been wokring at convincing his local cycling club to host a race and talking up the available terrain since then.

As more details emerge I will post them...

She's So Beautiful.

School Holidays mean that I have some time to work on this website, and you should check out the results of my hard labour over there on the right. Two new pages - licensing and 2011 locations. Both chock full of information. Are you getting excited about CX season yet? Because I sure am.

Sharing A City.

I don't want to give away too much information before the official flyer works its way out of Tara Jaynes hot little hands, but holy hell, we just locked in one of the best locations we've ever seen. Most of the time we stumble upon locations, dream about how rad they would be, and then get firmly knocked on our arses when we ask permission. This time the council in question has come to the party, and we couldn't be happier.

Think hills, mud (of course!), dirt, bike path, steps, gravel climbs, creek crossings, the works. All of our wildest dreams just came true. And in a couple of months, yours will too.

Let Us Stand.

In big stage races like the Tour de France or the Giro d'Italia they tend to have a smaller event the night before the race starts proper. It's usually a Time Trial (or Team Time Trial) and doesn't count towards the main race. This, my friends, is known as a Prologue.

The Dirty Deeds prologue will have some things in common with its fancier cousins. Results won't count towards the aggregate, and it won't be the same as a normal CX race. We're still locking in the locations, but we're hoping to hold it on a grassy (read: muddy) footy oval in the wild heart of Brunswick. But it will not be a Time Trial, mostly because Time Trials take ages to run and are boring to watch. No, you will be pitted against your mates in some tight, slippery, action packed racing. June 3rd, right? That's only two months away now. Start getting your bikes ready.
